We had a basement remodel and the price was competitive, and the project came in on budget and was completed on time. The crew was diligent, neat and hard-working. Blake is a perfectionist and he and his team take pride in their work. I have a lot of experience with remodelling and this was by far the best. Blake and his team did a great job.

Pros: Fair price, short time line, on-time, on-budget, experienced, provided recommendations, understood our limits, kind to children and dogs, did what he said would, all subcontractors came when they were supposed to.

Major remodeling of our bathrooms and kitchen were done very professionally and in time stated. The work was done in 5 weeks instead of 3 months as you would expect from the amount of work that was done including changes. If it were not for material order time for the changes, the work would have been done ahead of time agreed to. Blake’s wife has a real talent for materials and creative design ideas for the look we were trying to achieve.

When we decided to undertake a major remodeling project we decided to interview 7 contractors, one recommended by our architect and six from the “Troubleshooter List”.

While all appeared very knowledgeable and competent, we made our choice to work with Mr Blake Harder, because all who wrote about him, complimented him about his dedication to finish his projects on time and within the budget.

We were very pleasantly surprised. In addition to those two very hard to find professional qualities in a contractor, Blake had possessed a lot more. First he was extremely knowledgeable. He had practical solutions to every problem we had encountered, even those that stumbled our very experienced and reputable architect. He was always available with his cell phone.

We will always remain grateful to him when we remember the time he came to cover the open roof on a rainy Saturday night around midnight. He was very well respected by his crew and his subs. He had by the way, exceptionally dependable and proficient subs particularly his Framer was the best we had ever seen. It is no surprise that we passed all our inspections from the City with flying colors and all at the first time. What impressed us the most was Mr Harder’s honesty an integrity throughout this project. He is a rare find in an industry full of kick backs and overcharges and change orders.

Blake sticks to his budget, works very hard to focus on the project and controls the start time of each sub meticulously to finish on time, gets along very well with the parties (The architect, the owners and the subs) and put all in harmony.

As difficult and complicated as our project had been, we had fun in the process and more importantly, we continue to enjoy our new remodeled home every day.

Once the project had been planned in all aspects and the start date was set we eagerly looked forward to our new living space. We were amazed to find that the project was executed by a team large enough to actually finish on time when we sure (given the old wisdom that for any project you should plan on double the budget and double the time) no one could finish in the time frame estimated.

We learned later that most of the construction team has been with the company for over five years. As the project continued we found the work to be skilled and also about as organized as a renovation could be expected.

There were no surprises in the negative. In fact Blake was very accommodating with slight variations we came up with. I found that if anything He attempted to estimate either right on or higher than the final billing (for a specialty door and door frame for example).

We only have about 500sf in our townhome yet Blake and his crew treated us like we were finishing a 2000 sf basement. They show up every day on time and work hard until the job is done. They do quality work and don’t overlook a single detail.

I just want to thank you for the wonderful job you did on our kitchen remodel.  Working with you both has been a pleasure and I won’t even need to take bids from anyone else when we do the bathroom remodel!  Katie and I are both so pleased with the quality of the granite and how well it works with the backsplash and the cabinets…the overall look is just what we were after.  Please thank the team who worked on the kitchen, they were all very professional and did great work.
